Did you know that the word ‘lomi’ means ‘massage’ in the Hawaiian language? To be more specific, it’s a massage that feels like a big, gentle and caring wave from the ocean. Not only a paradise for surfers but also for massage lovers! To be honest, this type of massage is one of our personal favorites. Not only because La Palma is also part of an archipelago but also because we feel at home in a nature-loving culture.

LOMI LOMI massage is given with the intention of bringing harmony to the body. This bodywork reaches the soul and creates a sense of well being. The masseur will help you stay present in the moment. Your self-esteem will rise, joy of life will be brought into your body and a feeling of peace will fulfill your mind.

The therapist will use their forearms and hands to apply long rhythmic strokes that vary in depth and speed. The strokes are designed to soothe the conscious mind and to let go of the energy which no longer serves you.

Lomi lomi has been handed down through generations of Hawaiian families. Special thanks go to Margaret Machado, a master who dared to teach the ancient Hawaiian massage art to outsiders.
